“We are developing this South Asian Women Network TV website because many problems you might face as a South Asian woman are things we have faced in our own lives.  We don’t perceive ourselves as victims and we don’t want you to be a victim either.  Together, we can be strong.  We can help each other.  We can help improve the lives of millions of women today and our daughters and granddaughters in generations to come.

Today, more than ever before, women who have been oppressed, marginalized and maltreated have the means to improve their lives.  Organizations exist to help us and they will be listed as resources on this site.  Individually, many of us are speaking out and demanding that we be treated with the respect and human kindness we deserve.  We don’t want special treatment.  We want equal treatment.  Each of us is a human being, regardless of race or gender or religious background.  We are all equal.  No law or edict or tradition can contradict that.

Please browse this website and see all the resources that are available to you.  We certainly want to point out the problems that exist for South Asian women empowerment around the world but more importantly we also want to point out that there are ways to improve your life and to be fully accepted as a free and independent human being. Let us take this journey together!”
