Healing Properties Of A Tree

Healing properties of a tree

It does not cost much to plant a tree, buy a tree or spend time around a tree.

I have found that being around a tree brings great source of comfort, friendship and solace.

Let us start with a beautiful poem:

Trees

I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth’s flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Things that I learned from trees are:

Being grounded
Strength
Beauty
Character
Contentment
Lusciousness
Motherliness
Resilience
Uniqueness
Flexibility
Survival
Protection
Never give up
Beauty in age
Grandness
Nurturing
Sowing
Reaping
Growth
Time
Roots

A tree has been a big source of a healing:

  • Hug a tree
  • Take a nap
  • Climb a tree
  • Admire a tree
  • Talk to your tree
  • Read under a tree
  • Spend time with your tree
  • Lay below and look up through the leaves light shinning through
  • Plant a tree
  • Water your tree
  • Cut down on your use of paper

People may call you a tree hugger, don’t give heed to their chatter

“A stricken tree, a living thing, so beautiful, so dignified, so admirable in its potential longevity, is, next to man, perhaps the most touching of wounded objects.” Edna Ferber

The Man Who Planted Trees
Part 1

Part 2

“A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.” Saint Basil
