“I want to say thanks from my heart to you.
It’s you who gave me inspiration to fight for my safety and my family
and i did that.
I am so Proud of you that Being a woman you are so bold and You are
helping other women also.
I am out of street now,If you wouldn’t have encouraged me,I wouldn’t
have done that.
I just really wish you success in all the endeavours.
God Bless you !!!

Wow, what an amazing piece!  Thank you for sending this to me.  You are addressing such powerful issues through your website – giving so many women a voice.  Domestic violence is tough enough to deal with but so much so when it is confused with issues related to culture.  One thought I had was that there are some domestic violence organizations and shelters that could be sensitive to culture and in particular the needs of Muslim women – maybe you could give people some numbers to call for help (sorry if you included this and I missed it).  There are also escape plans that women should know about if they decide to leave (e.g. hid a bag with passport, money, clothing…even at a friends house or in a safe place outside the home).  Ultimately, what is needed is huge shift in the treatment of women in Canada and globally – your website is part of this process.

Take care,
